What does digital transformation really look like in practice?

Hear from Burnley, Rossendale and Newcastle-under-Lyme councils at a practical session in Burnley on 20 October 2026.

A new model for technology in local government is emerging. Built around open-source software and supported by an ecosystem of skilled providers, platforms like Local Gov Drupal, Local Gov IMS and the emerging OS Revs and Bens are giving councils real alternatives to legacy systems, with lower costs, greater transparency and genuine community ownership.

Join us in Burnley on 20 October

Join Burnley Council for a practical session on what this looks like in practice, focusing on payments, income management and wider digital transformation.

You'll hear from senior council officers modernising their organisations, including speakers from Burnley Council, Rossendale Council and Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, sharing their experiences across digital transformation, what it means for their teams, their residents and their budgets.

Burnley Council is an early adopter of Local Gov IMS, a modern income management platform built specifically for local government. At Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, just 21 days after go-live, GOV.UK Pay and Local Gov IMS were already handling over 2,700 transactions with a 95% payment success rate, and daily suspense items reduced from 150 to around 15.

Please note: This event is exclusively for local councils. Attendance is restricted to elected members and officers working within local authorities.
